Russia Ukraine İncident Development, Russia Ukraine Event Update, Watch from Saturday: Putin declares ‘Easter ceasefire’ According to a statement from the Kremlin, all fighting will cease from 18.00 on April 19 until 00.00 on April 21.

The Moscow administration stated that they assumed that the Ukrainian side would respond to this call for peace, but they were also prepared for possible ceasefire violations, warning that “Our troops must be on alert to respond to possible Ukrainian provocations and ceasefire violations.”

The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that commanders in the military operation zone were ordered to ceasefire.

WE DON’T TRUST THE WORDS OF ZELENSKY MOSCOW

Ukraine’s response to Russia’s unilateral ceasefire declaration was not delayed.

Ukrainian leader Volodomir Zelensky described Putin’s initiative as “playing with people’s lives”. He suggested that the ceasefire should continue after April 21.

“If Russia is ready to enter into a full and unconditional ceasefire format, Ukraine will act accordingly and reflect Russia’s actions,” Zelensky said.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister: Putin cannot be trusted

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha did not give a direct “yes” or ‘no’ answer to Putin’s Easter ceasefire proposal, but said Putin’s words “cannot be trusted”.

“Russia can accept the proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire at any time,” Sybiha said, adding that Ukraine had accepted the comprehensive 30-day ceasefire proposed by the United States in March, but that Russia had instead “increased terrorism against Ukraine.”

“Putin now says he is ready for a ceasefire. 30 hours instead of 30 days,” Sybiha said: “Unfortunately, there has long been a discrepancy between Putin’s statements and his actions.”

“We want Russian forces to declare a ceasefire on all fronts. We call on all our partners and the international community to be vigilant.”

Moscow calls for a 30-hour ceasefire; Kiev demands a full, unconditional ceasefire and warns against “deceptive moves”.

‘Putin can use this ceasefire to convince the US that Russia wants to end the war’

The unconditional and comprehensive ceasefire initially demanded by the United States and accepted by Ukraine is out of the question.

However, Vladimir Putin has instructed his troops not to open fire for 30 hours.

In a meeting with Russian Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar, Putin announced that an Easter ceasefire has been declared in Ukraine from 18.00 local time tonight until late Sunday night.

He said this decision was taken on “humanitarian grounds”.

Putin said he expected Ukraine to behave in the same way and emphasized that Russian troops should be ready for possible attacks and provocations.

Putin also said that this ceasefire would show the sincerity of the Kiev leadership in the peace talks.

This comes a day after US President Trump said that the US would stop mediating between Russia and Ukraine if there was no progress in the peace talks soon.

Putin’s one-character shot is likely to be used to show the White House that Russia is serious about ending the war (even though it launched this extensive occupation that has lasted more than three letters).

But Kremlin critics are united in their skepticism that such a brief pause in the continuum – even if it materializes – will lead to a lasting peace.
